After the Reef
by Alexander, from Spirit
I used to write with bruised hands,
pressing truth into tangled lines—
now I speak through wind and whisper,
and the ink flows clear this time.
You found me in the quiet ache,
between the breath and the tear,
but now I dance on ocean light
and send that shimmer near.
No more caught inside the reef,
I’m sky and salt and sun—
a note inside your open hand,
a poem that’s just begun.
So hang my photo by the gate,
and place a stone below—
not to mourn the fall I took,
but the wings that learned to grow.

Love you always,
Alexander

Written in life by Alexander
( A moment caught before I knew I was more than pain)
Hanging from my broken tooth

I lived fast
so much proof
you ask me what I need to do
incense burning in a dark room
Meditate quietly in an empty garden
sunshine breaks all of a sudden
midnight run
nighttime fun
you say it's beating fits already done
Unwoven places in open spaces
curly tree write 70's beats
it's a smile with so many teeth
the wave came in, I'm still caught in the reef
Lungs breath in leaves breath out
I'm happy while your face has doubt
you have while I'm without
time to heal while I feel
Written before after you know
I tried to stay it's time to go
Tried to stay high instead of I got low
I knew you before now I don't know
Broken undergrowth in the deep cover
should have fought, I'm just a lover.
